This village is 56 kilometers from Tambolaka, the capital of Southwest Sumba Regency. The main belief of the people of Rateranggo Traditional Village is Marapu, which is an activity of worshiping ancestors which is still a tradition that is firmly held. This tradition influences the shape of the houses they live in. The houses of the residents are stilt houses with towering roof towers. The height of the roof towers even reaches 30 meters and is the highest among the towers of traditional houses on Sumba Island. The towering roof tower, in addition to symbolizing social status, is also a form of respect for the spirits of the ancestors so that the house, apart from being a place to live, also functions as a place of worship
